February, 2008, Prayer Letter

Dear Fellow Helpers in the Lord,

May I take this opportunity to thank each of you who have supported the BEAMS ministry and the Freret family. For the month of January, we were able to supply 8,970 Bibles. Amen! As Brother John Bishop would say “God is so good!” We give Him all the praise, honor and glory.

Bible Day, Sunday, February 3
The first Sunday of February has been designated “Bible Day”. I want to thank each church that recognized the importance of the Bible, and received an offering towards the reprinting of “Thai” Bibles. So far we have raised $2,014.00, leaving a balance of $81,972.00.

Special Projects
Besides the Thai Bible project, we have two other projects. We are raising $21,000.00 for 3,000 Spanish Bibles for Philip Tyson, missionary to Honduras, and $70,000.00 for 10,000 Bibles for Kevin Pestke, missionary to Zambia.

International Distribution Center Director
We praise the Lord for leading Bro. Lane Stockton to accept the position of Director of International Distribution Centers. For several years, Bro. Stockton has been a missionary to Greece. Because the government of Greece had changed its laws to only give three month visas, Bro. Stockton was praying about God’s will. In the Missions Conference in his home church, Cornerstone Baptist Church, Leesville, LA, Bro. Stockton learned of the need at BEAMS for a Director of International Distribution Centers. After much praying and seeking God’s will, Bro. Stockton said he believed the Lord wanted him to help BEAMS to supply Bibles to missionaries all over the world.

Because the U.S. Postal service has gone up 400% on mailing M-bags, we have had to start using Priority Air-Mail boxes, which cost $37.00 a box. Because of this added cost, we have been seeking other ways to provide Bibles to the missionaries.

In many countries, missionaries are having National Bible Conferences. These conferences offer BEAMS a great opportunity to supply Bibles. We can ship a container with several thousand Bibles, tracts, John/Romans, and New Testaments and give missionaries and national pastors a years supply of Bibles.

Bro. Stockton will be a great blessing to BEAMS and to missionaries by organizing the loading, shipping, receiving, and giving Bibles in these National Bible Conferences. We already have requests from missionaries in several countries to provide Bibles. We are asking Bro. Stockton’s supporting churches to please continue their support. We greatly need his help in our ministry.
