May, 2008, Prayer Letter
Dear Fellow Helpers in the Lord,
Champion Baptist College Students at BEAMS
What a blessing it was to have students from Champion Baptist College, Hot Springs, Arkansas to visit the BEAMS headquarters April 16-18 for a time of learning about the BEAMS ministry and studies on mission work. Bro. and Mrs. Larry Burgett and Champion Baptist College are doing a wonderful job with these young people. Our staff was blessed by their sincere desire to serve God and in the way they honored Him with their Christian character and behavior. We look forward to hearing in the future how God uses these men and women to further His kingdom.
“Bibles for Thai Kids” Vacation Bible School Missions Project
There is an open door in the country of Thailand and BEAMS is raising funds to do a re-printing of the Thai Bible. $49,793.06 has been raised and $33,106.94 is still needed. BEAMS is offering a special VBS packet for churches that would like to use the Thai Bible re-printing for their VBS Missions Project. Your children will be encouraged to learn more about the children in Thailand who are hungry to have God’s Word. Your children can help a Thai child to have a Bible. Please contact Michele at the BEAMS office if you would like to have a packet which includes posters, a Thai Bible, and a Thai video DVD. You can call her at 228-832-1096 to order your packet.
We are now working on the inside of the new warehouse building. PRAISE GOD!
A group of faithful men came from Calvary Baptist Church in Connersville, Indiana for two weeks to work on the new warehouse. They framed up the walls for the office, packing room, and restrooms while they were here. These men helped us a few years ago when we remodeled our existing warehouse. We thank God for sending us their help. Please pray for God to continue sending the funds to pave the parking lot and complete the work inside and also to send volunteers to help. If you are near Gulfport, please come by and see the new BEAMS Bible warehouse!
Third Annual Nathan Pierce Memorial Sing in Lucedale, Mississippi
On April 19th, Corinth Baptist Church in Lucedale hosted a sing with the Inspirations to raise funds for Bibles in memory of Nathan Pierce. Bro. Nathan was killed while restoring electric power to a church so that they could have Vacation Bible School. $10,000 was raised for Bibles! What a blessing for us to be able to send out 1,428 Bibles in memory of Bro. Nathan.
BEAMS Revivals
Ben’s Ford Baptist Church in Bogalusa, Louisiana held their Annual BEAMS Revival on March 30-April 4. It was a wonderful revival with great preaching and singing. $29,203.86 was raised for Bibles. AMEN! This same week, their school also had a BEAMS Revival during the day and $7,138.80 was raised by the students. What a blessing to see these young people sacrificing so that others can have a Bible. 5,192 Bibles will be distributed with these two offerings. Dr. Lynn Martin organized the first BEAMS Revival five years ago and has offered help to many other pastors who have hosted revivals to raise funds for Bibles. If you have never been to a BEAMS Revival, you need to go to one. What a blessing!
Oak View Baptist Church in Livingston, Louisiana held their First Annual BEAMS Revival on May 4-9. $15,149 was raised! What a blessing to see this new supporting church catch the vision of BEAMS to get complete, hardback Bibles into the hands of those who get saved. Bro. Caleb Martin is their new pastor and this church is already doing a wonderful work for God.
I would like to thank each church and individual for your faithful support for the Frerets and for the BEAMS Bible ministry. We love and appreciate each of you.
