Dear Fellow Helpers in the Lord,

Greetings in the name of our precious Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. I pray my prayer letter finds you well. Freda and I are doing well.
We had another busy month in April. The first of the month I flew up to Atlanta, Georgia where I was with Dr. Joe Arthur. On Monday, his church, Harvest Baptist Temple hosted the Georgia Independent Baptist Fellowship with Dr. Raymond Hancock as moderator. I had a great time on Sunday with Bro. Joe and then took in the fellowship meeting.

Missions Trip for College Students – BEAMS Missions Emphasis Conference

This month, April 15-17, the BEAMS ministry was blessed by having eleven students from Champion Baptist College in Hot Springs, Arkansas. We, at the BEAMS office, organized a three day missions emphasis conference for the college students. The students were taught by veteran missionaries, watched videos from missionaries serving in several different countries, packed Bibles, and visited churches that have been organized in this area. It is a great program and we are very happy to offer it to our Independent Baptist colleges. If you are interested in this program, please contact my assistant, Bro. Be One of 170

One of our goals for this year is to pay off the mortgage debt on the BEAMS property. On January 1, we owed $170,000.00. So far this year, almost $30,000.00 has been received for the property, and along with our regular payments this leaves us with a balance of $132,933.20 at the end of April. If 133 more churches would consider giving $1,000.00 each, we could pay off this debt. Would you prayerfully consider being one of 170? Whatever you can do will be greatly appreciated.

Awesome Pastor’s and Missionary’s Conference

The first annual BEAMS Pastor’s and Missionary’s Conference was held on April 28–30 at Faith Baptist Church in Gulfport, Mississippi. There was preaching by several local pastors. Dr. Ernest Gambrell, Dr. David Smith, Dr. J. D. Weido, and Dr. Eric Capaci, served as the main speakers. The music, preaching, and fellowship was absolutely wonderful. The date for next year’s conference is March 1–2, 2010. The main preachers for next year will be Dr. Johnny Pope and Dr. Tom Wallace. We want to encourage pastors to mark this date on their calendar and make plans to attend.

Missionary Rick Martin Needs English Bibles in Philippines

Bro. Rick Martin, missionary to the Philippines, has contacted the BEAMS office and has requested 10,000 English Bibles for his national conference in October, 2009. This past year, over 1,100 pastors attended this conference. This is an excellent way to provide Bibles for missionaries and pastors from all over the Philippines. We hope to ship a container to the Philippines in June. Would you consider helping us to provide Bibles for this need? Thank you for helping.
(Special Project: 10,000 English Bibles. $70,000.00 will supply this need.)
