Dear Fellow Helpers in the Lord,

It gives me great joy to report the blessings of the Lord on the BEAMS ministry. We praise the Lord that from January to May, the BEAMS ministry has supplied 54,490 hardcover, complete Bibles to missionaries. Amen!

In April, we shipped one 40-foot container loaded with 12,500 whole Bibles, and several thousand John/Romans and New Testaments, for Bro. Bobby Bonner in Zambia. I am happy to report that the container has safely arrived at Bro. Bonner’s mission station. Thank you for praying.

Postage Rate Increase
For years, we have mailed M-Bags, ground rate, for $1.06 per pound. On May 14, the U. S. Postal Service dropped its ground rate service and changed the mailing of M-bags to Air Mail only. The new rates increased the charges for M-bags from about $18.00 per M-Bag to about $87.00. We did a lot of calling to the Postal Service, but there was not anything we could do. The decision was made by the Governors of the Postal Service. The only alternatives we have to get Bibles to missionaries is (1) Ship Bibles by container from our headquarters; (2) Put Bibles in a container being shipped by a missionary; (3) Mail Bibles by M-Bag and pay about 400% more postage; or (4) Mail Bibles for $37.00 in an International Airmail Priority flat rate box provided by the Post Office.

We have chosen to use the flat rate box. Most people could mail a box for $37.00, but $87.00 might be a hardship. Plus, the Bibles should be delivered in ten days to two weeks instead of three to four months. We are also told that the missionaries will not have to pay customs fees. On behalf of the missionaries and the BEAMS ministry, I would like to thank each church and Pastor for understanding and for helping us to mail these Bibles. Without your help, it would be impossible for us to meet the needs that missionaries have for Bibles.
