Thai Daily Life
The Floating Markets
Floating markets that began in the 1800’s are a connection to an older Thailand when people lived on the banks of a canal and food vendors would travel from stilt house to stilt house in long-tailed boats, selling fresh produce. These markets are still busy today; sometimes causing traffic jams!

These people need the Lord!
Plesase pray for more missionaries for Thialand.
Modern Bangkok
BANGKOK is the capitol city of Thailand. It has a population of over 6 million people and is the 22nd largest city in the world!
It’s modern elevated railway system helps to ease traffic problems.

Scooters are the most popular way to travel around Bangkok!

Beautiful Costumes
Thai children wear clothes much like ours but for special festivals and holidays they may wear clothing as you see in these pictutres. Some of the costumes are made of 100% pure silk!

False religion
About 95% of the Thai population are “Buddhist”, which is a religion based on the teachings of Buddha. The main theme of this religion is that your life is in your own hands, you determine how you will live in your next life. The focus is on man, not a god. The focus is not on birth or death but that we are connected to a chain of lives, the way we live here on earth determines how good or bad our next life will be, our next life could be as a ghost, an animal, or human. To sum it up, it is a religion where people can “create” their own salvation by the way they live this life on earth.
Many young boys as young as age 8 are encouraged to become monks. For many decades the only way for a young boy to get an education is if he were raised as a monk and lived at the temple. In the picture below you will see a young man who was forced to become a monk after his grandfather died. It is believed if he became a monk it would help his grandfather go to paradise. He had to shave his head and eyebrows. This is a very common practice in Thailand. It is also believed that if a person sets a bird or fish free on his birthday, it will prolong his life.
Jesus said unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Please pray for Bro. Bob Bowen as he preaches the truth to the Thai children.
